This tool was developed to produce helpful locating-taps in a sheet.

It is often necessary to fix two sheets together, e.g. they have to be welded together. These sheets have to be aligned accurately. This can be realized with these locating-tabs which have to be formed before into the sheet. The result is that the both sheets are in the exact required position, where the next production step follows.
